Dr. Usen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, and his master's and medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. After completing a residency in foot and ankle surgery at the Detroit Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in foot and ankle trauma surgery a St. Vincenz and Elizabeth Hospital in Germany.
Dr. Usen is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Public Health Association, the Michigan Podiatric Medical
Association and the American Diabetic Association. He holds privileges at Oakwood Heritage Hospital in Taylor and Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton.
He is an educator who has won academic awards and published articles on foot, ankle and public health in various medical journals.
